Spring:

This spring, as everything was awakening back to life, I found myself especially drawn to plants. It felt as though they were calling to me more than ever before, as if they were trying to greet me.

Mesmerized by this vibrant green life force, unfurling its leaves more abundantly with each passing day, I realized there was only one thing to do: surrender to it and paint flourishing greenery.

I intuitively sketched a network of branches, and then, completely in the flow, willow-like leaves began to emerge, accompanied by a few blossoms, together forming a botanical hybrid born entirely from intuition. As I painted, I felt deeply connected to the element of Earth and to everything that grows from it.

By the end of the first day, about half of the composition had already found its way onto the canvas. And you won’t believe what happened the very next day! While I was at work, sometime in the afternoon, a small earthquake rippled through Copenhagen! It wasn’t until later that evening that it suddenly occurred to me… perhaps it was my fault!

Could it be that the Earth truly stirred and decided to greet me back – with quite an entrance? Oops.

Enough synchronicity and extraordinary things happen in my life that it’s hard for me to dismiss moments like this as mere coincidence. 🙂

This painting contains a generous amount of metallic gold paint, making it almost impossible to capture its true appearance in photographs. The way the gold reflects light changes from every angle, so the painting constantly transforms depending on the viewer’s perspective and the surrounding light.
